Glass Plaque
These glass plaques were inspired by the stained and painted glass in medieval cathedrals, or the coloured panels in country houses. The Hare in particular is in the Arts & Crafts style of the late C19th, with its coloured panels and hand drawn designs. The Madonna & Child was inspired by a Byzantine icon with its rich gold and blue colouring. They are all complex pieces of work, with many stages and time between those stages – they are not quick to produce and take a high degree of skill which results in these beautiful pieces of art work.
